About the Event

“A Real Good Black Man” is a proposed, community-anchored visual arts exhibition designed to honor the legacy, resilience, and diverse stories of over 100 Black Males, most are Nebraskans. By pairing 100grassroots local talented artist (from middle school to adult).‍ ‍

February 6th: Opening Gala Launch: Catered event with Guided Tour, then a Cultural Panel Discussion: A critical dialogue on Black Boyhood into Black Manhood: What Does It Mean to Be A Real Good Black Man?

Feb 13th: Artist Roundtable: Artists discuss how they transformed the honoree into an exquisite art canvas

Feb 20th: Live Performance Art: Graffiti, Tattoo Art, Body Art contemplating the “what if?” life of Will Brown, victim of Red Summer (Omaha Sept 28 1919)

Feb 27th: Interactive Workshop: Teaching about Gordon Parks and Ernie Barnes plus some inspired works of famous Black American Artists
